Amy discovered Pilates in Chicago in 2005 while searching for a comprehensive workout regimen– she connected with Pilates ability to develop overall strength and body awareness. Subsequent years of Pilates practice and study led Amy to obtain her Mat certification in 2008. While concurrently working for a physical therapy company, Amy completed her 500-hour certification through the Physical Mind Institute of New York in 2011.
Amy’s teaching style results in clients gaining a deeper understanding of body connection, strength, and function. Her passion for educating clients to move with intention equips them to take Pilates principles into other activities and daily mobility. Her favorite thing about Pilates is that its methods never stagnate– there are always additional nuances that can be leveraged to deepen one’s practice, gain undiscovered strength, and sharpen the body-mind connection. She has witnessed how these benefits can impact the core areas of one’s health.
Amy has experience working with a wide variety of client types– including people with ailments from sport, diseases, injury, and bodily wear. She loves pushing clients into challenging places to help them realize their ability for deeper movement.
