Tess Losada

A third-generation Classical Pilates instructor, Tess’s priority is to help her clients find freedom in movement through hard work in the studio. Her sessions are sweaty, focused, and empowering—blending precision with athleticism as clients fine-tune their form and discover new movement possibilities. Known for her concise, specific, and challenging teaching style, Tess is committed to teaching Pilates as Joseph Pilates intended: a practice for the body, mind, and spirit. In her lessons, students are encouraged to make deeper physical and mental connections while building strength and confidence.

Tess first encountered Pilates while studying dance at Illinois State University. As a dancer, aerial circus performer, and musician, she was used to relying on natural athleticism—until a humbling experience with the Roll-Up exercise revealed just how much there was to learn. She was hooked. Tess went on to complete her Mat and Reformer certifications through Balanced Body®, and after several years of teaching, she sought more rigor and classical depth. She found it in Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates® Teacher Training program in New York City, graduating from the 600-hour certification in 2018. Tess also holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Washington University in St. Louis, which she earned in 2025, where she deepened her study of movement, anatomy, and performance.

Beyond the Pilates studio, Tess has worked extensively in movement—as a physical therapy technician, professional dancer, and dance teacher. With the discipline of a dancer and the curiosity of a lifelong learner, she continually deepens her own practice through study with Real Pilates® NYC and other classical teachers around the world. Since 2011, Tess has had the privilege of sharing the Pilates method with a wide range of people, including veterans, professional athletes, dancers, performers, musicians, pregnant and postpartum mothers, and individuals recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. Her goal is always the same: to help every student discover their potential and experience the power of true, mindful movement.
