Amy Layton

Amy first experienced Pilates in 2005 and immediately recognized it as something different from anything she had done before. After just a few sessions, she noticed how the method’s principles and movement patterns promoted strength, alignment, and body awareness. What began as curiosity soon evolved into a deep passion for the work.

Over the years, Amy continued to study and practice Pilates, eventually completing her comprehensive certification through the PhysicalMind Institute of New York in 2011. In 2022, she graduated from Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates® Teacher Training program in NYC, securing her place as a third-generation Classical Pilates instructor.

Amy is passionate about helping people reach their full potential through mindful, intentional movement. Her teaching emphasizes precision, connection, and curiosity within the Pilates system. She has worked with a wide variety of clients—including athletes, healthy everyday movers, pre- and postnatal clients, and those recovering from injury, illness, or physical wear. Her students often discover new strength, endurance, and balance under her guidance. Amy continues to study and refine her own practice, approaching the method as both teacher and lifelong student.
